This installation was part of the Noorderlicht Bloom project in 2021, which aims to give young artists and designers space to present their work. Inspired by the lockdown that the coronavirus brought upon us, the project dealt with the topic of “doors”. The physical doors, that have been locked on the one hand and the mental doors that might have been opened on the other.

Therefore, I built a cage, that “inhabited” a garden landscape. The cage can be seen as a resemblance of all the rules and guidelines that we had to follow, whereas the plants stand for methods of finding ways to either live with or also to break free from those. After all, it lies in human “nature” to do so.

An installation that deals with societal regulations and the natural thrive for freedom of the individual.
